About Surrey SAR

Surrey SAR is a volunteer organisation on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist Surrey Police and other Emergency Services.

"Our primary role is to assist in locating lost or missing vulnerable people within Surrey and its surrounding areas"

Surrey SAR is entirely reliant on sponsorship and donations to exist and carry out its work

How did the involvement started in Search and Rescue?

Seamus started in Search & Rescue in 2004 after leaving the Air Training Corps (RAF) and saw the amazing work that dogs can do.

He got Merlin, his first dog in 2006, Merlin and is now one of seven national assessors for Lowland Search Dogs (the National body for non-mountainous search dogs)

The most memorable success?

Seamus says, "Passing my Lowland Search Dog Level 3 assessment making me the youngest ever handler at the time.”

"My other successes include finding my first missing person with Merlin.”

Séamus is the Chairperson for Lowland Search Dogs which is the organisation which oversees the standards and assessments for all Lowland Search Dogs.
