CSJ. Proud sponsors of the World Agility Open Wales Team

When we received a letter from Barrie James, team manager for the World Agility Open Wales Team, 2013, we were delighted to step in to help.

Dear Ceri,

Following the success of the Welsh Dog Agility Teams for the last 4 years, a new International Agility event was run in the UK in 2011. Along with 53 other countries, Wales was invites to compete. See: www.worldagilityopen.com

Going for gold

2011 was a very successful first year for Team Wales with 2 Bronze, a silver and a Gold medal. Our success continued when the competition was held in Belgium in 2012 and the team gained three medal positions and many podium places.

We’ve just completed our selection for the World Agility event, May 2013, which will be held in Northern Spain. This provides new challenges for us in terms of funding as we will need to travel via overnight ferry to reach the venue, with increased costs for our team.

Barrie James

Manager of Team Wales

Live streamed around the world

Currently Team Wales are approaching major Welsh companies who might be interested in sponsorship. This includes talking to the press, the BBC and S4C in order to gain as much publicity as possible.

The event will be live streamed around the world to a large active Agility community. All the sponsors, including CSJ will receive key coverage at the event through branding on the teams kit, which is worn throughout the event.

Team Wales will deliver full coverage of the event in the Agility Press and within the Welsh media.   After the team selection day, they are proud to have an excellent team representing Wales in all four height categories.

Many of the partnerships have competed before with great success and formed part of successful teams at the Kennel Club International Festival Nations Cup in previous years. Check out:  http://agilitynet.co.uk/shows/kcifestival.html They have also competed individually at Crufts and other international competitions including:

  • FCI World Championships
  • European Open
  • KC  Olympia Agility Stakes

CSJ was delighted to be assisting Team Wales with:

  1. Entry fees to the event
  2. Team kit

Shirt swapping

The team kit displayed CSJ branding alongside the Team Wales logo. At the close of the event, the custom is that team shirts are swapped between the handlers. Official shirts become highly sought after and find their way to the far corners of the globe.

Keen to bring home the medals

Determined to build on success of previous years, Team Wales is totally self-financing and relies on fundraising by the team and sponsorship support to meet the costs of the entry fee and team clothing. The costs of travel for the handlers and dogs to Northern Spain, accommodation, and the facilitation of team training events will all be met by the team and individual fundraising efforts.

CSJ welcome the opportunity to work with team Wales

We wish Team Wales the very best of luck and hope that our sponsorship will help to support the team and be part of a huge success in 2013.
