Cambridgeshire Canines go sub-17

The Cambridgeshire Canines team was the first competitive flyball team in Cambridgeshire, started in 2007 by a group of complete flyball-newbies. We first raced in February 2008 where our best time of the day was 23.37s. Over the past 4.5yrs we have learnt so much about flyball, from watching other teams, talking to other BFA members and attending the CSJ-sponsored Rocket Relay seminar last year.

On 22nd January this year our top team of CSJ-fed dogs (Merlyn, Jess, Rex & Tally) finally joined the sub-17s club by racing a new fastest time for the club & the county of 16.96s. For a team that is still relatively new to flyball, this is an awesome achievement!

The majority of our team dogs are fed on CSJ and all do very well on it, with the Lamb & Rice, Herbie Rings and Herbie Nuts rations being the most popular. The dogs also regularly have the Fruit 'n' Mutt bars between morning & afternoon racing to give them a slight energy boost.

Over the years, the club have had many other great achievements, with 2 of our juniors being part of the winning YKC team at Crufts in 2011 and our 2nd YKC team also qualifying. Our 2nd team won their division at the British Championships last August and as a club, our teams have gained 48 1st places since we started racing. We currently have 4 open and 1 starters team competing, and are looking forward to another great year of British Flyball!!!!
