The trial which was sponsored by CSJ Specialist Canine Feeds had a good entry and the Head Keeper and Steward of the Beat, Mike Royan laid on an excellent trial. The location is fantastic and the ground was really well suited to a novice stake. We as a club were very fortunate to have such excellent hosts.
We were also lucky with the weather after so much rain during the night. Obviously the rain had an impact on the game, but once we got into the thicker cover it was plentiful. Our judges for the day also did a great job, their understanding of the conditions and always ensuring that the handlers and dogs had the best possible opportunity to mark and retrieve game was vital.
I would also like to mention that the excellent hospitality shown by our hosts extended to refreshments before we started and an excellent lunch on completion of the trial. The catering and service was outstanding and we really were well looked after by everyone involved.
The day went without a hitch and everyone appeared to have a really enjoyable trial. We ended up with a very deserving winner with Erica Munro Ferguson and her dog Levenghyl Jacana.
The feedback received so far has been excellent, in particular what a great location Innes is for a trial and how friendly and professional everyone was.
Overall this was an excellent day which ended with a great result for Club and competitors.
