Illness - a 'trial' for the judges at Arfon Retriever Test
The Arfon Working Gundog Club held a Retriever Test on the 17th June 2012 at Bodrida Farm, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Peter Rogers.
The day did not start well for Colin Torr the Test Secretary, with a wakeup call at 6.30 am to advise him that two of the judges had been taken ill during the night, but he was able to arrange for Mrs Eileen Dudley and Mr Gareth Lewis to act as substitutes to judge with Ms Val Oakley.
Due to the late withdrawal and being unable to obtain the services of a panel judge the Novice Section was run as usual but the Open Section reverted to a Special Test.
The day was enjoyed by all and I would like to thank Mrs & Mrs Rogers, the judges, the helpers, the competitors and the dogs who helped to make the day such a success. I would like to thank our sponsors CSJ Specialist Canine Feeds for providing the prizes and to Mr Gary McCarthy of Gundog Gear for sponsoring the trophies.
